- Video subtitling and translation for production companies that produced documentaries for BBC and Al Jazeera (Japanese to English)
- Medical translation and transcription for market research firms (Japanese to English)
- Translation of an academic article on the topic of sexual violence in Japan (Japanese to English)
- Photobook translation (both directions)
- Co-translation of feminist thinker and activist Silvia Federici's essay collection Revolution At Point Zero: Housework, Reproduction, and Feminist Struggle (English to Japanese; forthcoming from Getsuyosha)
- Translation of advertising features for a global digital media company (English to Japanese)
As a bilingual person who grew up in Japan and the UK, I have the skills to understand the nuances of both languages. Given my previous experience as a researcher at consulting firms specialised in political risk and market research, as well as my academic training in politics, refugee and forced migration studies, and media studies, I'm also interested in assisting with any projects on these themes. I also have a good understanding of contemporary feminist movements in Japan, based on my involvement in grassroots feminist group Chabujo since 2015.
